Rates, space, routing and geopolitics all end up in your delivery date and landed cost. Here is what we are watching.
October rates stay firm — book early for Q4
Carriers keep trimming capacity and fuel costs remain high, so rates held firm through the first half of October. For Q4 we recommend booking two to three weeks ahead rather than hunting for space at the last minute.
RATESRed Sea diversions continue, adding 10–14 days to Asia–Europe
Most Asia–Europe services still route via the Cape of Good Hope, cutting effective capacity and lengthening transit. Plan production against the longer schedule instead of last year’s timetable.
ROUTINGCongestion in parts of Asia and North Europe is stretching pickup and delivery
Several hub ports are congested, making berthing, container pickup and inland delivery less predictable. Build three to five days of buffer into the destination leg.
PORTSMiddle East tensions keep space and conflict surcharges uncertain
Conflict has previously pushed carriers to suspend some Middle East bookings and add conflict surcharges. Confirm current schedules, port rotations and surcharges before you quote a customer.
